[私房愛歌]〈All Through the Night〉by Cyndi Lauper

1983年，Cyndi Lauper推出她第一張個人專輯《She’s So Unusual》，一炮而紅，在美國專輯榜最高攻到第四名，銷售達六白金，也讓她拿到1985年Grammy最佳新人獎。

 

這張專輯總共收錄10首歌，前後推出過〈Girls Just Want to Have Fun〉、〈Time After Time〉、〈She Bop〉、〈All Through the Night〉、〈Money Changes Everything〉、〈I’ll Kiss You〉等六首單曲，各有特色也各擅勝場。

當時台灣媒體對Cyndi Lauper的焦點雖然集中在她誇張多變的造型，並屢屢將她與同時期竄紅的Madonna相提並論，不過我始終覺得她的歌喉實在一級棒，詮釋的功力也絲絲入扣。雖然在台灣的人氣比不上Madonna，但我私心還是偏愛Cyndi。

 

後來，我偶然在學校附近的MTV裡面發現這一張《Cyndi Lauper in Paris》，看曲目應該是她發行第二張專輯《True Colors》時的True Colors World Tour，我邊看邊驚嘆她的現場演出幾乎跟專輯的表現一模一樣。

 

然後，我聽到這首〈All Through the Night〉，這首不是太好唱的歌，她現場唱起來卻是游刃有餘，連結尾的長聲吟哦也不偷工減料，真是太感動了！

最後，Cyndi Lauper自己的版本其實就是翻唱，原創作是Jules Shearm，收錄在他1983年專輯《Watchdog》裡面。

原唱中板帶點民謠風，聽過就可以發現Cyndi Lauper真的是唱出截然不同的韻味。
